Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cooler This is a top of the line cooler. I have bought plenty of coolers in my life. This out does them all. Keeps our drinks cold in this hot Florida keys weather. Danger Charters tested and approved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my new 80 Fantastic cooler, performs as advertised. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. I gave 4 out of five stars only because it would be great to see a Made in the USA seal, instead of Thialand. Born in Jupiter FL, made in Thialand. Do the right thing Engel, bring that work home.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Latches Break Easily The DeepBlue cooler latches didn't last more than several uses on my 80. What good is a cooler that can't hold in the cold due to latches that break while you are camping or sailing. Not sure if this is covered by warranty yet or not, but even if it is, what is the value of a cooler that does not work after three years because the warranty does not cover the continuously breaking latches any longer?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds Ice After dealing with igloo's during several kingfish tournaments over the last several summers in NE Florida and the ice melting overnight I decided to purchase 3 different sizes 35, 50 and 80. I use the 35 for my wife and I when we fish for trout, redfish and flounder. The 50 and 80 is for drinks and food and chum. Over the past summer we fished 4 SKA tournaments in 90 to 100 degree weather. Both the 50 and 80 held ice over the several days of each tournament. Food, drinks and other items stayed cold and fresh. During the NE Jacksonville tournament and over a 4 day period the ice held up and we actually dumped the extra out on day 4. I will be purchasing the 123 before this summer begins. Considering the value compared to the Yeti what is not to like. Oh yea the Engel cups with the twist top works just as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wouldn't buy again I've never been a follow the pack guy and in fact I like going a different direction than the rest of the herd, so when I found Engel coolers a few years ago I was happy to get a product that wasn't something the "me too" crowd had. The price was a little better than the big name competitor and the size fit my boat perfectly. 2 years later I can't say that I'm overly pleased with my decision. I've had to replace both latches on my cooler. One of the plastic carry handles broke while I was carrying the cooler (which was only about 2/3 full) by myself but worst of all the outer shell cracked. I'm not sure if the crack is the result of me standing on it, I only weigh 200 lbs, or from it sliding around in the back of my truck. Either way, I would expect more durability from a product that is supposed to be as good or better than their competitors. The Engel cooler has some features I prefer over the competition. The fact that you don't have to remove the drain plug to drain water is a plus. Initially I liked the snag proof latches, unfortunately they don't hold up. The other features are pretty comparable to the competitors. Ice retention is good however that generally isn't my concern as most of my trips are day trips and any decent cooler will hold ice for the 8-12 hours that I needs. I'm not especially hard on my equipment and in fact I was without a boat for 9 of the 24 months I've owned the cooler and it was only used a handful of times when it wasn't on the boat. I recently got a new boat and I want to get another cooler but considering the issues I've had with my Engel I will go a different direction this time. Admittedly I did not contact Engel regarding these issues. I've never really had much success with warranty claims and I prefer to buy products that hold up as opposed to ones that I have to fight to get replaced because they didn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile I bought this to replace my boat cooler. It works great and keeps my drinks cold in the summer heat. Had to use it recently to keep drinking water cold while working several days in the yard after a tornado ripped through our neighborhood.
